Returning Inspiration No01: 1000 Amazing Faces

My work Why You Drew Me? got featured in Questiun’s Returning Inspiration No01: 1000 Amazing Faces

The oldest artistic depiction of a human face that we know about is dated to have been rendered approximately 27,000 years ago in the Vilhonneur grotto of France, and is described as ironically resembling the work of modern artists. This portrait is created from the natural shape of the stone wall and four strokes of calcium carbonate to indicate eyes, nose, and mouth. For centuries our species has had the need to recreate reflections of one another, to use art as a means of communicating both our similarities and unique characteristics. Eyes, nose, mouth, ears, cheeks, chin, skull and mind; icons of the face communicate these common features while observing the unique variations between their appearance on different individuals. Experience a contemporary journey which is centuries old by finding inspiration in the multitude of styles and techniques for expressing the human face; let yourself get lost in one thousand of Deviant Artists’ most amazing faces!

Presenting: One Thousand Amazing Faces

Surjit Patar Pencil Portrait

Surjit Patar Punjabi Poet Pencil Portrait in pencils

Its finished. A deep respectful feeling is taking over me after uploading this artwork. Finally im starting to draw portraits of the people representing my roots and im happy that Surjit Patar ji’s portrait is one of the first of these portraits. There is a feeling of satisfaction for a making a good portrait and then there is a feeling for drawing something meaningful. Im very hopeful that most of the Punjabies will enjoy this portrait.

I was so taken over by the feeling that i translated one of his Punjabi poems “Balda Birkh Haan” for the benefit of my English viewers… naturally its a very crude translation…. in no way one can express his words in English.. of course im the least capable to do that.. but i tried…

I’m a burning tree, almost done, just till the evening
Still I long for a spring

I won’t stay, but my songs will remain
My songs are water and I’m a line on its surface

I was torn and made into a flute
In the shape of this flute, I’m the scream of that jungle

On a page of fire, I’m a line of daffodils
They are debating if I’m right or wrong

I’m a burning tree, almost done, just till the evening
Still I long for a spring

King of Fighters XII Website Design

Just finished the King of Fighters Xii Launch center for india. Once again it was a commissioned work from theangrypixel
It was a rushed job and had to design and convert to xHTML in 4-5 hours.
Nothing special, but not too bad either.

Street Fighter IV Website Design

Back in February this year i was asked to design the Indian launch center for the Capcom game Street Fighter IV by the site theangrypixel I personally hated the game… well, i hate all those fighting games anyways…. but the deadline was quite short as i had to design and create the website in just one day. So i finished it, cut into HTML and created all the pages in just one day. It wasn’t that hard, as i designed it in such a way that it was easy to manage.
